AODC Open Data Community Meet-up Set For April 4, 2017

The Africa Open Data Conference (AODC), Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (AITI-KACE)and Information Technology Association of Ghana (ITAG) have collaborated to organise the AODC Open Data Community meet-up on Tuesday April 4, 2017 at 2:00pm – 4:00pm. The meet up which is the first this year will be held at AITI-KACE, Accra.
The meet-up will consist of a group of individuals from the technology industry, small businesses, journalists, civic tech, entrepreneurs, researchers, students, banks, telcos, insurance companies, NGO's, donor organizations, and local and national governments that connect virtually and in-person to share current and ongoing work in open data, share lessons, and form new collaborations. The group seeks transparency, open dialogue, concrete action on common challenges and shared solutions for communities and partners across Africa. The objective of the group is to meet regular, preferably every month, to share ongoing work and hold regional conferences to showcase and support open data collaborations within Africa.
The meet-up will feature an open data expert from within Ghana and abroad committed to furthering the transfer of knowledge. On the agenda will be issues relating to open data policy in Ghana and elsewhere including discussing the National Data Roadmap towards the sustainable development goals (SDG’s). The aim is to strengthen the use of open data for innovation, job creation and economic growth in Ghana elsewhere.
The general public is invited to share in the knowledge and network with others within the open data community in Africa.
